French lessons take place for all children in Primary, right through from Nursery to Year 6. The French specialist teachers work closely with the department and often tailor their curriculum to cover areas that the children are studying in their classes. This provides a wonderful sense of continuity for the children.
Each year whenever we organise parent assemblies and shows, the French teachers will work with their classes on songs, poems and stories that can be incorporated into each event.
Last week many of the French lessons within Primary involved taking the children outside for their learning.
After reading and discussing our story “Les Trois Petits Cochons”, we have today, for our outdoor activity, built the three houses with the Reception class.
Maison de paille, maison de bois et maison de brique pour jouer notre histoire. Le loup n’était pas là!
In Year 1 we have been working on our alphabet.
Aujourd’hui, les “Alphas” ont pris l’air… les premiers éléments trouvés : caillou pour c et bâton pour b…. mission impossible pour k, w, x et y…..
In Year 2 we have been using our sense of smell to guess the fruit.
Qu’est-ce qui se passe aujourd’hui ? A fun smelling game, in the fresh air, with fruit fragrances and fruit picture cards to guess the fruit… in French bien sur…
