After a first night at the 18th century Chateau du Molay Littry, they went by bus to the Port of Accromanches and battled with the elements on the D-Day beaches of Longue sur Mer. They also visited the American and German Cemeteries and Memorials and the “Overlord” WW2 Museum. The third day presented an opportunity for another Museum visit to the Memorial Museum in Caen followed by a visit to the village Bayeux.

Intense experiences and an emotional learning curve. After a change of pace with a disco evening at the Chateau, the students headed back to Paris on Friday and managed to round off an information-packed and illuminating trip with a visit to the Musée de l’Armée aux Invalides. The importance of the transmission of history once again proving a valuable lesson.

Our thanks to Mr Carver and Mr Cooke for their organisation of this trip, an unforgettable experience for our students.
